If you are a heavy drinker, think about this: alcohol might harm your brain and body, even after quitting by the age of 30. Many of us spend our college years imbibing, sucking down the suds from a 12 foot beer bong and then playing beer pong until dawn, but this behavior may have physical consequences that last well beyond your hangover. According to one study of 600 men, by the time these reformed drinkers reach 60, have twice the incidence of depression, even among those that hadn’t had a drink in decades.
The study indicated heavy drinkers were more apt to suffer with three health conditions such diabetes, heart disease and mental disorders. Since alcohol might harm brain & body, younger drinking is now being scrutinized and discouraged.
